Carolyn Lavengood was my twin sister. She worked for many years as a school teacher before her retirement. Unfortunately she developed breast cancer and then I came back to Illinois from California where I live to be with her in her last days as she struggled with colon cancer. She died on April 29, 2010 at the Woodstock Illinois Hospice after a week in a coma - I was fortunate enough to be with her for a few weeks before she died.
Carolyn was loved by her fellow teachers and left a marvelous legacy - her life savings and estate are being donated equally to the Heifer Project International, World Lutheran Fund, a local foodbank in Fox Lake Illinois where she lived her remaining days and Feed My Starving Children.
I am glad to be in contact with anyone who wishes to learn more..
