In Memory

William Sheehan

William Sheehan

William "Bill" Sheehan was born October 14th, 1944 in Oak Park, Illinois. He passed away at the age of 79 on December 12th, 2023 in Manhattan, Kansas.

He served our country with honor during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Renshaw (DD-499). After returning, he finished his education with the G.I. bill. He owned his own business, KRC Promotions, for many years while working other jobs, and eventually landed at United Armored/Garda where he worked until the end of his career. Sales was his passion and he loved meeting people throughout his industry and providing great customer service to all.

Bill enjoyed fishing on the family's many trips to Boyd's Mason Lake Resort and looked forward to the event each year. There was a time you could find him on the golf course in his free time, but later in life he loved to spend most afternoons reading. He was an active member of Downers Grove Community Church and loved the friends he made there greatly. He was a Chicago sports fan for many years but added the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State to his cheering roster after moving to Manhattan, KS in 2020.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Bill & Betty Sheehan and his brother in law, Ed Quinn. He is survived by his wife Linda (Mark), sister Nancy (Quinn), and children Lauren Shaw, Kristin Bloom (Andrew), Christopher (Scott Conklin), Kevin (Katie), Riley (Lauren), and Connor (Diona). He is also survived by his 10 granddaughters, Emma & Ellie Bloom, Stella & Luna Shaw, Hadley & Lily Sheehan, Finnley & Kendyl Sheehan, and Harper & Chloe Sheehan. They will all miss their Ying Ying very much.

The entire family is eternally grateful to the staff at the Bramlage House in Meadowlark for caring for Bill in his last days. In lieu of flowers, we request donations to Bramlage House, available through the Meadowlark website at https://www.meadowlark.org/giving/donate-now.

I was shocked to hear of  Bill's passing.  He was always a great help with our reunions, and will be missed by me.

Rest in peace my friend, i am glad we knew each other.

I am so saddened to hear of Bill's passing.  I went to Horace Mann grade school with Bill.  He was always nice and fun. I sat next to him in math in Junior high.  We had a horrible teacher.  She would hit kids over the head if they had the wrong answer.  Then she would call them dummy.  Bill and I looked at each other , wide eyed.  Thank goodness we never got hit or were called dummy.  At the last reunion,Bill, Bob Sogge, Ellen Lovett and I spent al lot of time in the hospitality room talking about our days at Horace Mann and our classmate.  It was a wonderful visit!!  I am so sorry for your loss, but know Bill was a gentleman.
