In Memory

Jonathan Woodman

Doug Piggot has just sent this message:

, I was recently notified that my dear friend Jon Woodman passed 12/17/2020 while in hospice in Lecanto, Florida. Sue & I been down to see him this September and he appeared to be in good spirits but frail. We were able to sign Jon on to the OPRF62 website and he heard from a number of classmates which truly pleased him. He had been living in a Memory Care facility for the past several years and was in and out of Hospice for a number of medical issues. Jon had one son, Bruce, who lives in Duluth, Mn.

Jon was a great friend that several of us knew since Wm. Beye grade school. He had a very dry wit and loved to read. Jon was among a group of us who used to hang out at the Purcell home on Bonnie Brae in our Sr year and several years after graduation. We would kid about whether the 'Cocktail Flag' was flying, we would all show up. Jon is now the third of that group (Barb Purcell, Rhoddy Ellis) to pass.

May Jon have finally found peace and comfort.

My mom and John's mom, Harriet, were friends. I remember playing at the Woodman's house as a little kid. Life get's in the way and the next time I remember John was at Nineteenth Centure Dance Class in 7th grade. Then in high school . I remember John told us he had been pulled over by a cop because he did not believe John was old enough to drive a car! I think that was Junior year! John always looked young in those days. I left Oak Park for University and never really came back. I have fond memories of John and hope he had a full and rewarding life. My condolences to his family. Thank you Doug for letting us know.
