Dorothy Cummins Obituary
Dorothy (""Dotti"") Marie Cummins Fuchs went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 1 after a five-month battle with cancer. She leaves a large legacy that will be dearly missed by her family, church and community.
Dotti was born in Rochester, New York, and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in a Godly and music-filled home, led by her father, Daniel Fuchs, who pastored a church and led evangelical efforts. After graduating from Northwestern University outside of Chicago, she was the first student ever accepted to the Julliard School of Music without having to do an audition, where she went on to receive a master's degree in Piano Performance.
For nearly 50 years, Dotti was a vital part of her husband's ministries in Michigan and California. In 1989, they established Bear Creek Community Church where Dotti led worship, women's, and prayer and healing ministries. Thousands of people benefitted from her ""Touching God in Prayer"" class. In 2017, she launched a new strategic prayer initiative for Stockton, which aims to bring churches and ministries together to take our city back for God.
Dotti was a remarkable woman. God blessed her with numerous talents that she faithfully used to serve through the local church and impact lives for Jesus. She was an awesome wife to her husband, Bill, and a loving mother to her son Josh, his wife, Kristen, and their children, Kylie, Jake and Caitlin; to Dan, his wife, Sarah, and their children, Noah, Ava, Micah and Levi; and to Matthew, his wife, Gemma, and their children, Juliet and Silas.
