John Klotz

John Edward Klotz, 74, passed away at home with his wife, Betsy and family members, in Easley, SC on December 15, 2018 weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. 

John was born in Oak Park, IL on April 17, 1944 to Julius (Bud) and Grace Klotz.  He attended Lincoln School in River Forest before graduating from Oak Park River Forest High School in Oak Park, IL.  John attended Wheaton College before completing his college education at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX where he received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.  During his education at LeTourneau, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betsy) J Rostollan and they were married in 1967.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Grace Klotz and his younger brother, Timothy Carl Klotz.

John is survived by Betsy, his wife of 51 years; daughter Victoria Grace Eastergardand grandchildren Trey, Drew, and William; son Wayne Douglas Klotz and wife Brenda and grandchildren David and Grace; and daughter Johnna Suzanne Pierson with husband Phillip and grandchildren Jacqueline, Spencer, John, Caroline, Judson, and Eva.  John is also survived by his sister Gretchen Jean Klotz-Dutschke and her children Hosea, Polly, Marek and his brother’s widow Carroll Jean Klotz and their children Julie, Kristy, Heidi, and Amanda

Following college graduation, John’s career included working for 3M Company, Michelin Tire North America, Inc., KTM Solutions, Inc (Greenville, SC), and providing personalcontract/consulting engineering services to a variety of industrial clients.

John enjoyed his family, outdoors, traveling, photography, wood working, and worldwide Work and Witness Mission trips.

John and family were active in the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Easley, SC

A memorial service was held on January 6, 2019 in Easley, SC
