An Oak Park man died Monday — exactly one month after being hit by a vehicle — from complications of his injuries.
Charles J. Owens, age 70 of the 700 block of Hayes, Oak Park, was pronounced dead at 10:10 a.m. March 23 at Kindred Hospital Chicago-Northlake, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Owens was hit by a vehicle Feb. 23 at Austin and Augusta, Oak Park. His death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Chuck was a great guy.
We used to walk down to Hayes Park and ice skate in the winter. His parents were involved in scouting and we had many a good time at his house as cub scouts. Somewere I have a picture of at least Tom Vasey, Bob McLaren, Stan Garrett, Jim Shaw, all dressed up in our uniforms.
Maybe Bob can remember the rest?
