So sad to read about Genie! We were good friends and celebrated weddings and had fun times together, and Ira was included in many of the activities. We laughed a lot. I hope she went peacefully and am sure her family will have many wonderful memories of this lovely lady.
I have known Genie since the second grade at Willard School in River Forest. My recollections are of a lovely person, without pretense, who was fun to be around.
Within the last few years, my wife and I had the opportunity to visit Genie in Montecito, CA. We spent a wonderful afternoon catching up on decades of stories and memories and touring Santa Barbara. Genie, as you would expect, couldn’t have been more gracious.
I express my heart-felt sympathy to Ira and her family.
So very sorry to hear about Genie! We too go back to Willard. We had many sleepovers at her house and would spend the night laughing. My sincere condolences to Ira and her daughters.
I go back to fifth grade at Willard School where I first met Genie. Though it has been many years since I last saw her, the memories are strong. Her smile, Her wit will be truely missed.

Such sad news! We were at Willard together and through high school. So so sorry to hear this. She was a great gal.
