Janet was so sharp and funny. June Otzko, Carol Light, Pat Mitchell and I were rereading some of her letters from college--how sad that she died so young.
Janet was the first person to befriend me when I entered RFJH in eighth grade. She lived down the street from me and we quickly became best friends. Janet didn't take life too seriously. She was fun, funny and a little naughty--a good compliment to my "straight and narrow." She helped me see the possiblities beyond my view of the world and I probably kept her focused. She was always there for me, keeping my life "normal" when I was going through some very sad times. We were best friends through high school and remained close as we went our separate ways for college. We were in each other's weddings. About the time we were both thinking of starting families she was diagnosed with cancer. We were both optimistic that she would be fine. After all she was only in her early twenties. But it was not to be. She passed away at twenty-six. I mourned her for many years and still think of her often. Because she was not able to fulfill her dreams she has driven me to pursue mine. Janet, you are my Guardian Angel and I feel you at my back always. Love, Pat
